15 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Ignore Best Double Buggy

The Best Double Buggy Strollers

If you're expecting twins or have two children of different age groups, a double buggy can help you out and about. The best ones are easy to maneuver and can handle rough surfaces and kerbs.

They also come with features such as large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that are adjustable.

1. Baby Jogger City Tour 2 Double

The City Tour 2 Double stroller is the smallest in the Baby Jogger range. It's designed for travel and easily fits through doors with its narrow design. It's also one of the lightest double buggies on the market weighing just 14lbs when folded. It's perfect for traveling with a toddler and a newborn because you won't be able to exceed the allowances for luggage on airlines. It can also be folded to the size of an incredibly small travel bag making it easy to store in the back seat of your car.

It's easy to fold the Z-shape using one hand. Once you get used to it, it's compact and can be folded in a matter of seconds. However, our tester discovered the auto lock to be a little confusing. As the handlebar doesn't lock into place when you press it, it landed on her legs when she was using it. She also felt the handlebar was a bit too short and especially with the large changing bag hanging from it.

This double stroller isn't as light as other travel buggies. It's got a broad range of features, and is among the most versatile double strollers on the market. It is compatible with two carrycots (available separately) It also has multiple recline positions, and comes with an UV 50+ canopy. You can also add a bassinet to one or both seats and transform it into a travel set-up.

The four wheels made of rubber are ideal for pavements as well as urban terrain however, they're not designed for off-roading - they struggled with long grass and gravel and there's not much clearance between the bracket and the wheel, so mud was able to get stuck easily. Our testers loved this buggy and was able to climb beautiful dirt hills.

2. iCandy Orange

The iCandy Orange double buggy is the ultimate in style, versatility and quality. It is a must-have item for parents looking for a stylish and durable double buggy that lasts. The 2021 update comes with a few changes that improve manoeuvrability as well as an even better, larger shopping basket with a re-designed bumper bar and leatherette cover. The seats are extremely comfortable and have a sculpted look. They're also adjustable, so they can be set to suit the needs of siblings. iCandy have introduced the first ever 'cinema' seating design enabling parents to maintain eye contact with both children. They can be moved to face either the parent or the world.

It's a heavier tandem buggie, but it's easy to use and drive especially on smooth pavements. It is stable in both single and double mode and even on sloping ground. It's not as simple to drive on public transport, however, because it requires more than one hand on the handlebar. It's also heavy and won't fit in a standard car boot without the seat attached, but this can be overcome with careful planning. iCandy includes a footmuff and changing bag with the cost, so it's an excellent value package for parents who are just starting out.

Our test participants found that the Nipper Double is incredibly easy to navigate, even on bumpy terrain or when turning in an area with a lot of traffic. The fact that the seats can be reclined independently was hugely appreciated.

The hoods were also easy to adjust for sun or wind protection. They didn't offer the same amount of coverage as the Baby Jogger City Mini Hoods. It might be worth packing an extra rain cover in case.

Overall, our test participants loved the way Nipper Double let them to take their twins Sydney and Lyla on all sorts of adventures, from seeing wildlife in the woods to running to the park to play with their friends. They were also awed by how cosy and spacious the two seats are with plenty of space for toddlers growing to play in. The absence of parent-facing seating and the inability to use a car seats on this buggy were both noted as a drawback by our testers. They would have liked to see a larger storage space for shopping and other equipment.
